Our mission
JMAS exists to give researchers in medicine and the applied sciences — particularly in Libya and the wider region — a credible, rigorously reviewed venue for original work. We publish research that is methodologically sound, ethically conducted, and relevant to clinical practice and applied technology.
Who publishes JMAS
JMAS is published by the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Abusalim, and edited by a multidisciplinary academic board drawn from the institute and partner institutions. The journal is currently accepting its first submissions ahead of Volume 1, Issue 1.

How JMAS reviews and publishes
Every submission to JMAS follows the same transparent process, outlined below. Full detail is provided in the Author Guidelines.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts are screened by the editorial office, then evaluated by two independent reviewers under a double-blind model. Reviewers return their assessment within 10 days, after which authors receive a decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
Publication Ethics
JMAS follows internationally recognized publication-ethics standards regarding authorship, conflicts of interest, and research integrity. Allegations of misconduct — including fabrication, plagiarism, or duplicate submission — are investigated by the editorial board before any decision is finalized.
Open Access & Copyright
All accepted articles are published open access at no cost to readers. Authors retain copyright of their work and grant JMAS a license to publish; full terms are provided in the Copyright & Ethics form submitted alongside each manuscript.
Originality & Plagiarism
All submissions are checked for originality before entering peer review. Manuscripts with substantial overlap with previously published work, without proper citation, are returned to authors or rejected outright.
